Computer Science Innovations: Imaging System

A new imaging system can read closed books. “The Metropolitan Museum in New York showed a lot of interest in this, because they want to, for example, look into some antique books that they don’t even want to touch,” says Barmak Heshmat, a research scientist at the MIT Media Lab.
This innovation can read closed books (up to the first nine pages). This algorithm can even read incomplete or distorted letters. This innovation will help researchers who do not want to damage antique books touch. I think that this innovation is very creative however there is room for improvement. Currently it can only read up to 9 pages so researchers for example will only be able to read the first nine pages of antique books. After that you have to just take a guess on what the rest of the book is about.
